For several years, Chandler Funeral Home has hosted many community seminars dealing with estate planning, grief and cremation. Seeing a need to address the pain of pet owners following the loss of a family pet, Chandler held a Pet Loss Seminar in 2003. They arranged to have a pet bereavement counselor from the University of Pennsylvania's Small Animal Hospital prepare the seminar. A simple, yet thorough presentation incorporated many of the things done in traditional support groups following the death of a loved one, including allowing people to offer special moments they had shared with their pets.
